A Man of A Certain Age on The Road
While on the road to see the world, I have discovered more about myself
I had taken many personal trips during my two decades of Corporate life. While that part of my life was both financially and intellectually rewarding, it always followed me, stylishly packed in the iPhone and conveniently tucked in my pocket wherever I was, even halfway around the world. Until now.
Reaching my 60-year-old landmark, being fortunate and having felt bold enough to wave a final goodbye to my 9-to-5 hamster wheel, I began to realize that time off is a pleasure without guilt and a meander without a destiny. It was my turn for tooling around, to savor the “Parts Unknown” for real. In addition, as Bourdain, my favorite host of that enthralling program, chose to rest, for good, he had planted a seed in my mind. It was all the more reason for me to hit the wide-open road.
I was energized now, but where and how?
