Author’s Bio–Meeting Cheng Wang
Meeting the Author, Cheng Wang
In the early-1980s, two years after completing college in China, Cheng Wang, a boyish-looking, unworldly young man, thought his name was Columbus and landed on this side of the Pacific with borrowed money. Starting out as a Ph.D. Econ graduate student, Cheng delivered Chinese food to pay part of his living expenses. After 30 years living in America, Cheng looks in the mirror today: Economics by training (University of Cincinnati, OH), Principal Member of Tech Staff by vocation, and enjoying his family homes on both sides of Pacific (in Shanghai and North Carolina). Currently, Cheng has become a full-time freelancer and a Chinese-American Cross-cultural Messenger. As a passion, he devotes his time to bring better understanding and communication between the people of the two countries.
In his spare time, Cheng is an avid tennis player, seasoned investor and voracious reader. But writing is truly in his heart.
“You have nothing until you put your thoughts into words, to create, and to own the material,” Cheng tells himself. “Like any journey, on the road or in life, you take it in stride and you just need to write it down.”
